Jay Kee

Client Partnerships Manager

We’re thrilled to welcome Jay Kee as our new Client Partnerships Manager at White Ash Group. With over eight years of experience supporting cannabis operators across Canada and internationally, Jay brings a deep understanding of the industry’s challenges and opportunities.

Drawing on his background with cannabis tech leaders Ample and GrowerIQ, Jay approaches client partnerships with empathy, adaptability, and a long-term mindset—values that align perfectly with White Ash Group’s mission to help cannabis companies grow and thrive.

In this Q&A, Jay shares what excites him about joining White Ash Group, how his experience has shaped his approach, and a few fun insights outside of work.

What excites you most about joining White Ash Group?

Several things, actually:

1) I get to remain in the cannabis industry and continue helping cannabis businesses to scale and thrive in a challenging and heavily regulated environment.

2) I feel very well supported by a team of people who have spent their entire careers in recruitment and the last 8 years in the cannabis space.

3) I really enjoy the culture of the cannabis industry. So many awesome folks out there who are dedicated, hardworking and a joy to hang out with.

You’ve spent over 8 years in the cannabis space. How has that shaped your approach to client partnerships?

Ultimately, working in cannabis has made me a more strategic and empathetic partner. It taught me how to build trust in uncertain, start-up environments and how to deliver real value despite external challenges through adaptability, transparency, and long-term thinking. In one of the most highly regulated and taxed industries in the world, success requires creativity, patience, and a solutions-oriented mindset.

Clients in this space aren’t just looking for a vendor - they need a partner who understands the constant regulatory shifts, slim margins, and operational pressures they face. That means being proactive, anticipating obstacles, and helping them find efficiencies or growth opportunities even when the landscape is tough.

What strengths do you bring from your past experiences at Ample and GrowerIQ?

Working in cannabis tech has given me a strong appreciation for how cannabis producers and processors operate from front of house to back, the role requirements of each cannabis-related job and the challenges that cannabis operators face in a highly regulated environment, here at home and abroad.

What can clients and partners expect from working with you?

They can expect to partner with someone who has partnered with cannabis operators in Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Someone who understands the unique challenges cannabis producers face both domestically and internationally.

Outside of your professional expertise, what drives your passion for this industry?

Wellness. The cannabis plant is amazing and has the potential to help millions of people across a broad spectrum of illnesses and disorders. I can get behind that cause all day long.

Tell us something fun about you!

Well, I also (occasionally) work in the film and television industry as a professional actor. These days it’s mostly television commercial work that I do. I don’t have the available time required for film and tv shows like I used to. Here’s a link to a tv commercial I did not so long ago for Bounty.
